Small Vertebrate Control Portales, NM — Living in rural locations can be quite satisfying and rewarding but can sometimes come with uninvited guests. The New Mexico Ag Expo is pleased to bring Dr. Sam Smallidge, New Mexico State University Extension Wildlife Specialist, to provide training on understanding small vertebrates of New Mexico and means for controlling their interaction with humans. Dr. Smallidge will speak on February 24th at 1:30 p.m. in the McAlister Room of the Jake Lopez Bldg. on the Roosevelt County Fairgrounds. This program should serve to provide great learning opportunities for new as well as lifelong residents of the area on understanding our local wildlife and better controlling how our paths cross. This course has been approved by the New Mexico Department of Agriculture for one continuing education unit (CEU) to be applied toward a private applicator’s license. If you need more information or are interested in attending please contact the Roosevelt County Extension Office at 575.356.4417.
