Simply Supper
Do you hate to hear those dreaded words. . . “What’s for supper?” Connie Moyers, Roosevelt County Extension Home Economist, has the answer. She will present a cooking school featuring “Simply Supper” Wednesday, Feb. 20, during the 21st New Mexico Ag Expo sponsored by Plateau.
Participants will receive simple recipes, tips and hints that will make this task easier. The cooking school will be held in the Cacahuate Room of the Jake Lopez Building on the Roosevelt County Fairgrounds at 10 a.m. The school is sponsored by U.S. Bank.
Insect Pest Management in Hay
The 21st Annual New Mexico Ag Expo, sponsored by Plateau, is pleased to bring Dr. Jane Breen Pierce, New Mexico State Extension Entomologist to discuss “Insect Pest Management in Hay.”
The seminar is at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 in the McAlister Room of the Jake Lopez Bldg. on the Roosevelt County Fairgrounds. It is sponsored by Roosevelt County Electric Cooperative. This course has been approved by the New Mexico Department of Agriculture for one continuing education unit (CEU) to be applied toward a private applicator’s license.
Colt Starting with Scott Daily
The 21st Annual New Mexico Ag Expo, sponsored by Plateau, is pleased to bring back Scott Daily of Arkansas City, Kan. to present his program on “Starting Colts – Putting on the First Ride” and “Progressing the Young Horse.”
Daily will present his demonstration on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Pavilion on the Roosevelt County Fairgrounds. The demonstration is sponsored by Yucca Telecom.

Panel Discussion on Issues Facing the Beef Industry
Navigating the beef industry is challenging to say the least given the production and economic climate of the last two years. Surviving to fight again will require evaluating every option and possibility available to beef producers.
The 21st Annual New Mexico Ag Expo sponsored by Plateau is pleased to provide a different platform to discuss the challenges facing producers. This year will feature a panel discussion featuring Dr. Ted McCollum, Texas Agri-Life Beef Cattle Specialist, Dr. Manny Encinias, NMSU Beef Cattle Specialist, Kent Mills, Hi-Pro Nutritionist, and Chad Davis, Davis Ranches. The panel will discuss the upcoming challenges and opportunities facing beef producers in the High Plains.

Integrated Pest Management is a valuable management tool which strives to use several complimentary control methods to manage pests making the system more stable and subject to fewer production risks.

Prairie Dog Control and the New Rules on Rozal
Methods and regulations for controlling pests such as prairie dogs change regularly and ranchers and farmers need to keep current to avoid expense and problems.
