Antique Tractors and Farm Equipment
Agricultural heritage has plowed deep furrows through Eastern New Mexico and West Texas and the New Mexico Ag Expo tips its cap each year to that heritage with an outstanding display of antique tractors and equipment.
Most of these tractors aren’t just for show, they’ll parade the grounds of the Ag Expo a couple of times a day each day. In addition a friendly competition of games played with the tractors is planned.
“With the weather never certain during February, we’re looking at the possibility of having the parade trail through a couple of the buildings where bleachers are set up. The games may be held inside as well,” said Karl Terry, executive director of the Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce. Everyone young or old, whether they come from an agricultural background or not, loves to watch and hear those old tractors on parade.”
The tractors will be lined up along the fence near where visitors enter the grounds. Owners hang out near the tractors and are eager to share the story behind their pride and joy.
